Eid Mubarak – Eid Salah on Sun, June 25th at Farm Show Complex In ShaaAllah

Based on mutliple global moon sightings in and around the world, Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow and the prayers will be held at 9:30AM on Sunday, June 25th at Farm Show Complex, In Shaa Allah. This year ISGH will be having a United Eid In ShaaAllah.

When: Sun, June 25th or Mon, June 26th

Takbeerat Begins: 9:00AM

Eid Salah Begins:  9:30 AM

Place: Farm Show Complex, Main Hall, 2300 North Cameron St, Harrisburg, PA

Please bring a prayer rug if possible and also, please try your best to perform wudu before you start.

Disposable plastic bags will be provided for securing your shoes during the salah, In ShaaAllah.

Parking:

  • Free Parking is available in the Farm show complex. Use McLay St entrance to enter the Farm show complex and to avail free parking. You may be charged if you enter from the HACC side entrance.
  • Enter into the prayer hall through either one of the entrances towards Maclay Street.
  • Use the Maclay Street entrance for parking.
  • Follow the direction of the parking volunteers.
  • Please park your cars responsibly as parking is limited.

Food:

  • No outside food is allowed inside the complex

Eid Sunnah:

  • Fitrana is $8 per person and it is important that you pay your Fitrana at the masjid before Eid Salah
  • Have breakfast before leaving for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers
  • Use two separate routes to and from the Masjid
  • Recite the following Takbir on the way to Salah and until the beginning of Salat-al-Eid

Allaho Akbar, Allaho Akbar. La ila ha illlallah. Allaho Akbar, Allaho Akbar. Wa lilahill hamd.

Security:

Farm show Security guards will be securing the perimeter of the building and parking lot. They will not be posted at our event but will however be walking through periodically. In addition to the above we’re hiring 4 security personnel for the event and will be posted at the entrance and inside the complex In ShaaAllah. Considering the recent anti-Muslim incidents within and outside US, CAIR urges everyone to review the advice on security procedures contained in CAIR’s “Muslims Community Safety Kit”. This kit was developed to better equip the community with the knowledge necessary to protect against the anti-Muslim bigotry or attacks and to secure basic rights.

Annual Muslim Day (Central PA Picnic):

Eid celebrations or Annual Muslim Day will be held at Adam Ricci Park on SaturdayJuly 1st, beginning 12PM, In Shaa Allah. This event is being sponsored by all local Islamic centers. For additional details, please contact your Islamic Center.

Joint Eid Salah at Farm Show Complex and JazakumuAllahu Khairan for your Generous Donations

It’s remarkable that we are in the final days of Ramadan with Eid ul-Fitr soon approaching, we take this opportunity that we ask Allah SWT to accept all our Ibadah, fastings and charity.

First of all our sincere thanks to all the families who donated or sponsored iftar at ISGH. JazakumullAllahu khairan for all your donations. May Allah reward you immensely and give barakah in your earnings.

Also, as you’re aware ISGH contributes extensively to community needs whether using its name, its facility or even its resources, ISGH is always there to support community events. As we strive hard to ma​​ximize good works in this month of prayer, supplication and generosity, we ask that you please extend a generous hand and support ISGH. Your kindness will enable us to fund many important operational and school projects. So, it’s a humble request to you all please take a moment and contribute whatever you can by visiting our website www.isghpa.org or you may handover your donations to one of the council members at your convenience. In ShaaAllah, your generosity and kindness in this time will allow us to maintain the complex and support its Islamic schools.

ISGH Summer School Program – Qur’an Tajweed Program

ISGH is offering a summer school program to families looking improving tajweed of their kids ages 5 to 15. Kids are divided into two groups after initial evaluation is done.

Importance of Tajweed

  • If someone doesn’t know Tajweed,
  • The meaning of Ayath can change
  • Salah may not be accepted
  • On the day of Qiyamah, Qur’an will appeal against you.

Begins June 5th & Ends July 30th (Monday- Friday)

From: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Ramadan Mubarak and Prep @ ISGH – Allahumma Ballighna Ramadan

Assalamu-Alikum,

May Allah grant us the ability to reach Ramadan and help us to fast and pray during Ramadan and spare us from the fire of the hell, Ameen.

There has been no moon sighting in any part of the world so far so, the holy month of Ramadan for 2017/1438 will begin on Saturday i.e May 27th and we will have our first Taraweeh at ISGH on Friday 26th, In Shaa Allah.

Taraweeh will start immediately after Isha Salah and will be led by Mufti Rehan-ul-Haq, Hafiz Ahmed and Hafiz Imran, In Shaa Allah.

ISGH will be hosting free community iftar every Friday and Saturday of Ramadan. Everyone is invited. If you’re interested in participating/sponsoring for one of these iftars at ISGH, please contact one of the council members or click on the following link. You will be able to sponsor for Fruits, Water paper products or for Food In ShaaAllah.

ISGH Evening School and Sunday School Graduation Ceremony

ISGH Islamic schools will be holding their Graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 20th In ShaaAllah.

Sunday School Graduation Ceremony – 11AM, Saturday, May 20th

Evening School Graduation Ceremony – 6:00PM, Saturday, May 20th

In Shaa Allah. Kids will perform various activities as part of this event.

Our guest speaker in the evening will be Mufti Obaidullah Awal Abul, SBNY Organized Maktab coordinator, will present graduation certificates to all the kids.

ISGH Honored with Annual Torch of Global Enlightenment Award on May 18th

Each year, The World Affairs Council of Harrisburg honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated the highest ideals in advancing issues of global importance. Awards are presented for efforts to advance international education, environmental sustainability, global health, tolerance, civic engagement, international law, human rights and support for refugees and immigrants. This year, Alhumdulillah, ISGH has been honored with Annual Torch of Global Enlightenment Award for its contribution towards interfaith harmony and against extremism in the Harrisburg region. Award was presented on Thursday, May 18th @ 6:30PM @ Harrisburg University.

This award goes to everyone that are working on various fronts on the interfaith activities on behalf of ISGH. JazakumuAllahu Khairan to everyone who contributed to the success of ISGH and who helped ISGH get nominated.

The Islamic Center of Greater Harrisburg has been nominated to be honored at the annual Torch of Global Enlightenment Awards ceremony sponsored by The World Affairs Council of Harrisburg at 6:30 p.m. May 18, 2017 in the auditorium of Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, 326 Market St., Harrisburg.

Cate Barron, Executive Editor of PennLive and The Patriot News, will provide the keynote address at the event on “Challenges to the American Media.”

Each year, The World Affairs Council of Harrisburg honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated the highest ideals in advancing issues of global importance during ceremonies on May 18, 2017 at Harrisburg University. Awards are being presented for efforts to advance international education, environmental sustainability, global health, tolerance, civic engagement, international law, human rights and support for refugees and immigrants.

The work of the Islamic Center of Greater Harrisburg in our region in support of interfaith harmony and against extremism clearly has advanced these high ideals, and we hope you are able to join us at the Torch Awards to accept our expressions of appreciation.

Previous individual award winners have include the Honorable Pedro Cortes, Dr. Hector Ortiz, Bishop Nathan Baxter, Dr. Richard Hughes, Dr. Truong Phuong, Graham and Esmeralda Hetrick, Dr. Barbara Terry, Behzad Zandieh, Sensei Tony Stultz.

ISGH Sponsors 13th Annual YWCA Race Against Racism

On Saturday, April 29, 2017 the YWCA Greater Harrisburg will hold its 13th Annual Race Against Racism. This 5K run/walk is a mission-driven event promoting awareness of racism in our community and raises vital funds to support our racial justice programs throughout the year.

ISGH and the Central PA Muslim Community will be silver sponsorer of this years Annual Race.

Race-Day Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. leading up to the race start of 8:30 a.m. The Annual Kid’s Fun Run will take place at 10:00 a.m. during the Humanity Fest.

Registration rates include an individual rate of $26.00 and applies to participants in a team.

Registrations received after March 31st and Race-Day Registrations will be $30.00 for an individual and $20.00 for a child, 12 and under.

Zakath Workshop and Q&A Session @ 6PM on Saturday, May 6th In ShaAllah

ISGH is providing Islamic teaching and values of Islam to the Muslim community of Harrisburg area since 1975. ISGH has transparent process of Zakat collection and distribution system based on Qur’an and Sunnah.
One of the Quran’s major theme is social justice for those whom society disadvantages and compassion for the vulnerable. Islam builds its community out of our human obligation towards each other, making each Muslim accountable for the well-being of every other Muslim.

Please join us for a zakath workshop @ 6PM on Saturday, May 6th In ShaaAllah   The seminar will be conducted by MUFTI MUSLIHUDDIN KAWTHAR, SHEIKH OBIDULLAH HAMZA and MUFTI RAIHAN-UL-HAQ

The program will cover the essentials of one of the pillars of Islam.  There will be a Q&A session at the end.

In celebration of Diversity month, The Diversity and Inclusion Council will be hosting its 1st Annual Diversity Day @ East Wing Rotunda in Capitol Building between 11AM – 2PM on Thursday, April 27th 2017. ISGH will be taking part and be represented as the Islamic organization in this event. Thanks to Ayesha Noor and Samia Malik for leading the efforts in representing ISGH.

Fundraising Dinner to Support Syrian Refugees – Sat, April 8th @5:30PM In Shaa Allah

Assalamu’alikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On this 6th year anniversary of the ongoing crisis in Syria an estimated 250,000 people have been killed with more than 50% displaced. Of the over 4,810,216 registered Syrian refugees 635,324 are residing in Jordan where 86% are living below the local poverty line. Over 13.5 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance inside the country.

Helping Hand has been providing humanitarian relief and assistance to the Syrian refugees through the efforts of their Helping Hand Middle East North Africa (MENA) office in Jordan.

With the blessings of Allah, and your help, ISGH is hosting a fundraising dinner on Saturday, April 8th 2017 at 530PM to support brothers and sisters in Syria. This event is being coordinated with Helping Hand who inturn will be responsible for distributing the raised runds and providing the assistance for the refugees. Unfortunately, the situation continues to deteriorate and we need to step up our efforts. They are more than just a number, they each have a story of hope. Let’s come together and make a difference.
