Therefore any incoming reports of moon sightings that were made using any optical aids are not accepted.

Therefore, we’ll complete 30 days of Shabaan and we’ll have our first Taraweeh prayers at ISGH on Wednesday, May 16th and first day of Ramadan will be on Thursday, May 17th InShaaAllah.

Central PA Muslim Community’s response to the targeted Police shootings in Harrisburg on 12/22/2017

Author ISGH PA Web Admin    Category Announcements     Tags

In the Quran, before emphasizing any point, God introduces Himself as Mercy three times and throughout enjoins being merciful to our fellow man – the acts of Friday night (12/22/17) go against any sense of mercy. We, the Central PA Muslim Community, are absolutely horrified and sickened by the targeting of those who serve to protect us each day. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us and we will never stand for violence against those who are innocent.

We pray and hope that the injured officer makes a speedy and complete recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.

The teachings of Islam are very clear in condemning violence and ensuring respect of authority of the land, no matter where one lives. And while we could cite any number of reasons why this goes against Islam, the truth is any society should reject lawlessness and murder in all its forms. For these reasons, we stand with our fellow central Pennsylvanians and brave officers, and stand ready to assist however we can. Our city’s resilience and unity are stronger than any who seeks to attack and divide us.

2018 Annual Dawah Cup – Winter Sports Schedule

Author ISGH PA Web Admin    Category Announcements, Events     Tags

Assalamu’alikum

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commands us saying: “Teach your children swimming, archery and horse-riding.” This direct call to practice sports shows the great importance Islam places on sports in training the Muslims and making their bodies healthy and sound. Islam sanctions anything that is pure and beneficial for man. It encourages a Muslim to be strong and to seek the means of strength.

In Shaa Allah, ISGH and the Central PA Youth Committee will be organizing multiple sports events this winter and would like to once again welcome all the teams for another season of volleyball, badminton, basketball and ping pong tournaments. This year we’ll also be organizing Soccer tournament for the youth and will be held at Yellow Beeches on Dec 23rd. For registration for all the tournaments, please click below.
