Defending the Rights of Muslims – ACLU Presentation on Oct 29th @ 5PM
Assalaamualaikum
ISGH will be welcoming the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania on Saturday October 29th at 5:00pm. Staff Attorney, Valerie Burch, and Director of Development, Bruce Makous, will be presenting “ACLU: Defending the Rights of Muslims”. We think that the program will give our community members an overview of the legal work that is done by the ACLU-PA on behalf of Muslims and provide an opportunity to ask questions about our legal concerns related to civil rights.
Increased airport screenings, ethnic profiling, harsh immigration laws and religious intolerance have caused Muslims to seek legal assistance from the ACLU in recent years. By offering this program about the civil rights work they have done for Muslims, they hope to encourage community members to contact them if their civil rights are ever violated.
When: Saturday, Oct. 29th, 5:00 p.m.
Topic: Defending the Rights of Muslims
Where: ISGH, 407 N. Front St, Steelton, PA 17113
Cost: Free
